I locked my keys in my car in 40 degree weather and I didn't realize it until I got back from my hour long hike. It was getting dark, my cell phone was dying AND I had spotty cell service.

I once drove to Canada in December and got stuck in one of Ohio's worst snow storms ever. I was in my car and stopped on the side for the road for about 7 hours.

I grew up in Florida and I've been in lots of hurricanes. I've been without power for two weeks. Stores are closed (when they re-open they are out of supplies) and whatever you have at your home is what you have for light.
